Mateo Kovacic has broken his silence after 'streaking' across the pitch at Stamford Bridge following Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester United. After the Blues were denied a sixth win in seven games under new boss Graham Potter, the midfielder was spotted by Sky Sports running towards the tunnel in only his underwear and socks.
The 28-year-old had handed a Chelsea supporter his matchday kit. In the cold conditions, he obviously had no intention of hanging around any longer without much to cover himself up.
Kovacic's actions left thousands of fans bemused by his decision and a clip of such went viral on social media. But, now, the Croatia international has spoken out for the first time since the incident.

Taking to Instagram, he posted a cartooned drawing of himself in his underwear. Apologising to his wife, Izabel, he captioned the image: "Sorry @izakova!"
As the 'streaking' unfolded, Roy Keane saw the funny side and told Sky Sports: "There's a streaker!"
Fellow pundit Peter Schmeichel joined in with the post-match craic and added: "That's a nice sight."
Kovacic was brought on for Marc Cucurella in the first-half. Chelsea were being overrun in midfield by United and Graham Potter decided to make a tactical alteration.
The Croatian went on to play a major role in the Blues almost securing three points, had it not been for an equaliser from Casemiro in the final moments. Speaking to Sky Sports, Potter explained whether or not he felt a 1-1 draw was a fair result.
"It's disappointing because you're 1-0 up and you can see the end," the Blues boss said. "But over the course of the game I think a point is about right.
"I don't know whether we did well enough to win it. Of course we got into the position to win it, but overall it was a really fighting performance from us. We improved a lot after the first 30 minutes and in the end we take what we get."
