Match of the Day's Gary Lineker blames 'porn' noises on studio 'sabotage' as BBC investigate

Gary Lineker has blamed the loud 'porn' noises on Tuesday night's Match of the Day on the BBC studio being 'sabotaged' by pranksters.

Millions of viewers tuned into see Wolves take on Liverpool at Molineux but, while the match itself, won 1-0 by the Reds was entertaining itself; it was then very unexpected interlude before kick off that remains the biggest talking point.

Right as host Lineker was crossing over to Alan Shearer for some pre-match build up, some loud sex noises became very audible to everyone watching at home; proving to be a massive distraction as Lineker, joined in the studio by ex Liverpool player Danny Murphy, ever the professional, tried to carry on with the interview.

As Lineker cut to Shearer, he looked down the camera lens and remarked: "I don't know who's making that noises," adding: "Alan, it's toasty in this studio, it's a bit noisy as well...someone's phone I think. I don't know if you heard it at home."

People definitely did and Twitter was quickly full of responses. and then, just as the game was kicking off, the former Spurs and England star took to Twitter to reveal what caused the noises, posting a photo of a mobile phone strapped to a wall and writing: "Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing"

Gary shared in people's amusement after the match as well, sharing a few of the best tweets about the whole debacle on his own Twitter timeline, including one that read: "Gary Lineker tells Kirsty Wark 'If you'd told me this morning I'd be on Newsnight talking about a porn scandal, I'd have been terrified'"

Gary even made reference to the noises as cameras were still rolling. Reflecting on Elliot's winning goal for Liverpool, he said: "Harvey Elliott’s goal was a screamer, which is not the only one we’ve had tonight!"

Later on Tuesday night the BBC confirmed they'd be launching an investigation, writing: "We apologise to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened.”
