Match of the Day running order revealed for Tottenham horror show and Liverpool late show

Liverpool and Tottenham stole the headlines on a hectic Saturday of Premier League action.

The Reds dramatically beat Leicester City 2-1 to extend their winning run in the league to 17 matches.

With the score locked at 1-1, Sadio Mane was controversially fouled by Marc Albrighton in stoppage time, allowing James Milner to move Jurgen Klopp's side eight points clear at the top of the table.

In the day's early kick-off, it was another day to forget for Tottenham Hotspur as they were humbled 3-0 by Brighton.

Fresh from their 7-2 battering from Bayern Munich in midweek, things went from bad to worse for Mauricio Pochettino's side on the south coast.

Hugo Lloris was taken off with a nasty-looking injury in the build-up to Neal Maupay's opening strike.

The result condemned Spurs to a third Premier League defeat of the season, as the pressure begins to grow on Pochettino amidst the unrest surrounding the club.

Elsewhere, Burnley further heaped the pressure on Marco Silva at Everton with a 1-0 win at Turf Moor.

Pochettino on his future at Spurs

The former Hull City boss' job is looking under increased threat after yet another poor result and performance on the road.

In the remaining games, Aston Villa thumped Norwich City 5-1, West Ham lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace and Watford vs Sheffield United ended goalless.

All the goals and the action can be seen on Match of the Day this evening at 10.30pm on BBC One, which is then repeated on Sunday morning, and Gary Lineker has revealed the running order for this week’s show.

Match of the Day running order:

Liverpool 2-1 Leicester City

Norwich City 1-5 Aston Villa

Brighton 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace

Burnley 1-0 Everton

Watford 0-0 Sheffield United
