Match of the Day presenter sacked by BBC after 'behaviour complaint'

Ex-footballer Jermaine Jenas has been sacked from presenting The One Show and Match of the Day, the BBC has confirmed.

The former Premier League player, 41, has been removed from The One Show (which airs on BBC One) following an internal investigation by the corporation because of alleged complaints about his behaviour, The Sun has reported.

It is understood issues were raised with the BBC a few weeks ago, and it took action.

BBC confirms Jermaine Jenas "no longer part of our presenting line-up"

A BBC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line-up.”

It's also understood he has been dropped from his punditry duties on Match Of The Day, Sky News reported.

He was last on air earlier in the summer.

His agency MC Saatchi also said it no longer represents him.

Jenas, 41, moved to TV presenting after after retiring from professional football back in 2016.

During his career he played for Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers.

Jenas also made 21 appearances for England, scoring one goal.

The father-of-four joined The One Show in 2020 as a stand-in co-host following the departure of Matt Baker, according to Sky News, and he was made a permanent fixture the following year.
