Parc Trostre in Llanelli looks set to be gaining a very well know clothing and home store.
A planning application summited to Carmarthenshire Council indicates that the former unit that once housed Debenhams is set to become Matalan.
It would not be the first new store to announce it's arrival at the retail park, as it was recently confirmed that a new independent store, 925 Treats, would be coming in Easter, 2022.

The new stores will be good news for Parc Trostre which has seen major retailers such as Outfit, H&M, Debenhams and Next depart during the pandemic.
Six household name retailers at the shopping centre have had to close their doors, leaving empty units behind.
Whilst the Debenhams name still lives on online, after fashion retailer Boohoo invested £55m to keep its stock and re-launch its website, the physical stores are now a relic of the past, with shutters and signage the only things remaining at many across the UK.
The venture, which is still in the early development stages, could feature state-of-the-art leisure, culture, and exhibition spaces, alongside health and educational facilities, tourist information, customer services and more
A spokesperson from Matalan, when asked if it was moving to Parc Trostre: “We regularly monitor opportunities to evolve our portfolio and given commercial sensitivity would not comment on speculation around individual store negotiations.”
The Parc Trostre team said that, at the moment, they weren’t able to comment any further on the news around Matalan.
