In case you haven't noticed, we are now in July and, while the weather here in Bristol may have taken a turn for the wetter, one might be inclined to think that it's far too early to think about holidays like Halloween just yet. We'll forgive those of you who stock up on Christmas presents throughout the year - because that is very organised.
But browsing the shelves (both physically and virtually) of some of our favourite stores this week, we've noticed that there are some big high street names which have already decided to put out the Halloween stock. And shoppers are already going mad for it.
The likes of Matalan, Next, Asda, The Range, Homesense and TK Maxx are some of the names in the list. Matalan has a new range of pumpkin shaped and printed mugs, dishes, pots, cushions, tea towels and even an apron - some of which display as 'selling fast' or already having sold out.

While Matalan's range isn't exactly the spookiest of the bunch, it is very Autumnal, in orange and neutral shades. Prices range from £4.50 for a glass pumpkin trinket pot, to £5 for a pumpkin shaped mug, £6 for a pack of three tea towels and £9.50 for a lidded pumpkin shaped soup bowl.
Next's range of Halloween decor includes mini baubles (priced at £6 for a pack of 12), inflatable outdoor pumpkin decorations (priced at £87 for one), pumpkin LED lights (£10 for a set of four), a pumpkin casserole dish (£40) and even a pumpkin soap dispenser (£10). Next is also stocking Autumnal wreaths and scented candles, as well as Halloween chocolates, pyjamas and, if you're really getting into the spirit of things, a light up pumpkin toilet seat (£18).
TK Maxx and HomeSense are known for putting out the Halloween decorations early and they already have a vast array of items in stock - from duvet sets to cupcake cases, skull candle holders to ceramic plates, throws, cushions, ornaments and, of course, scented candles.
Meanwhile, The Range already has an entire section of its website dedicated to the spooky holiday - and a whopping 286 products listed under 'Halloween Decorations'. They include skulls and pumpkins aplenty, as well as more neutral Autumnal homeware, such as lanterns, wreaths, crockery, glass jars and wall prints. There's even a 'Fall Collection' of Autumnal home decor, too, listing 223 products.
