High street fashion retailer Matalan has been praised by shoppers for it's 'pretty' £20 Jubilee dress. It comes a day after ASDA found itself in hot water with shoppers over matching Union Jack dresses which have been made for mums and daughters ahead of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.
Matalan's £20 offering has caused a stir with people excited about the upcoming Jubilee. Sharing a picture of the dress, Matalan wrote: "Jubilee weekend is around the corner and this [is] the perfect garden party dress Shop the £20 dress."
The Papaya Blue 70s Floral Shirred Midi Dress doesn't have Union Jacks all over, but it does have a pattern fit for a garden party. Dare I say a dress full of Union Jacks looks a bit....tacky, and this is far more Bank Holiday party appropriate.

There's just one problem with the dress. Like ASDA's, it's completely sold out apart from in a size 10, and people are MAD.
Suzanne Oliver wrote: "You keep putting lovely dresses on here, then when you look on the website they are never in stock, some never come back in stock, what is the point?!" Manders JG responded: "Agree 100%! Happens all the time and is annoying!!!
Sarah Kate O'Connor said:"I hope it comes back in to stock." But for the most part, people were blown away by how 'pretty' the dress is.
Lucy Blackburn praised: "I have this. Its very soft and comfy." Jenny Stubbs said: "Love this dress."
Natasha Staddon commented: "Love that one." Annmarie Welch said: "This one's so pretty."
Manchester Evening News has reached out to Matalan for comment.
