Lisa Faulkner reckons MasterChef judge John Torode is "less aggressive" since they got hitched in 2019.
The Aussie, 57, and the actress, 50, have been together since 2015 and have presented seven series of their ITV show John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.
The pair first met on This Morning back in 1990, where Lisa was a guest and John was cooking - however she said she found him "arrogant" to begin with.
Explaining that John had actually forgotten about their first meeting she said: "I remembered it so well. It’s really funny. He said he was nervous because it was his first time on telly. I thought he just seemed really arrogant," she told The Sun.
However, after meeting again in 2010 when Lisa was a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef, the pair went onto wed, after which Lisa says John is a changed man.
"I think he has got less… aggressive, maybe. He’s definitely softened. I went to lunch the other day and somebody said: ‘Oh my gosh, you’ve completely turned him around.
"He was so moody on MasterChef. He was always so grumpy and he’s just lovely now.’ I went: ‘OK, I’ll take all the credit.
The pair's much-loved cooking show returns to ITV later this year.
Speaking about working with his wife, John told the Mirror: “It’s great to be working with your other half,” he says. “We always have a lot of fun together in the kitchen and Autumn is a fantastic transitional season for food so we will be delivering more exciting and tasty dishes to compliment that time of year and beyond.”
Lisa added it was a “dream come true”, after last series achieved its highest audience share since its launch in 2019.
“More viewers seem to join us each year too which is fantastic, so if you haven’t spent your weekends with us before, please come and join us in the kitchen this Autumn,” she says.
In August last year, Lisa spoke to us about her life with John, revealing that the pair split the cooking at home equally.
When asked how she found working together on their show, she gushed: "I feel like I get to work with my best mate, and he’s always so supportive. Sometimes, I’ll be worried about a recipe because I’ve only done it once, and he’ll be like, “You’ve got it, you know this.
And we have such a laugh that we honestly forget that we’re filming a TV show – it’s like we’re in our kitchen at home."
Lisa, who is mum to daughter Billie, is also stepmum to John's four kids, Jonah, Lulu, Marselle and Casper.
