MasterChef's Gregg Wallace left feeling 'uncomfortable' thanks to one contestant's dish

MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace refused to touch one of the contestants' dishes in a new episode of the series.

The 58-year-old co-hosts with John Torode and sampled the food nine hopeful amateurs cooked up for the judges.

Unfortunately, according to Gregg, one of the contestants 'undercooked' their chicken.

Woei was struggling to complete his dish within the time limit and told the show's floor manager that he had it 'under control'.

"Don't worry, the sauce is done. Hopefully, it doesn't blow John and Gregg away with the heat," he said.

Once the dish was presented to Gregg, he refused to eat the dish and said it was making him feel 'uncomfortable'.

Woei cooked a beautifully marinated chicken with tomato and chilli sauce served with blue basmati rice and tempura curry leaves.

John started with compliments, telling him: "I love that sauce. Rich and buttery, sweet with tomato and nice chilli heat running through the back of it.

"The thing with the curry leaf, it's nice and crispy but because they are curry leaves, they stay quite greasy."

Gregg called enjoyed the "light and fluffy rice" but quickly went on to discuss the "undercooked chicken".

"I have issues with this chicken. there's a pink tinge on the insides of my bits of chicken, which is putting me off," he said.

"They're undercooked. Not all of it but enough to make me uncomfortable."

Thankfully, Woei took the criticism well and said "Resilience is the most important part of life".

The contestant went on to the next stage of the competition with three other chefs.

Over eight weeks, judges John and Gregg will taste dishes made by the 45 hopefuls, who include a circus performer, a tree surgeon, an NHS Worker, a coffee shop owner, an engineer, a supermarket manager and a delivery driver.

Gregg and John previously dished out advice for budding chefs.

"Don’t pretend. Cook what you know and stay with what you know," Gregg shared.

John kept it practical and said: "Don’t drink too much coffee before you come through and eat something before you get there."

Masterchef continues on BBC One on Tuesday at 8pm.
