MasterChef judge Melissa Leong splits from husband after 3 years of marriage

MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong has ended her marriage to husband Joe Jones after just three years together.

The foodie had only dated bartender Joe for three months when they decided to get married - and at the time she said: "When you know, you know."

But less than four years into their whirlwind relationship, Melissa and Joe have called things off for good.

Sharing the sad news on Instagram, Melissa posted a black and white picture of the pair on their wedding day.

"It has brought us such happiness to walk together, but the time has come for Joe and I to part ways and walk on, apart," she captioned it.

"We ask for your kindness and consideration for our privacy, we will not be making any further comment as our private lives have, and will always remain exactly that.⁣⁣

"We wish you peace at the end of such a challenging year for all," she added.

The 38-year-old Australian presenter recently opened up about her lifelong secret health battle with an autoimmune disorder called pyrrole, which leads to severe insomnia and prevents the body from absorbing zinc and vitamin B.

"One day I woke up with what I thought was a bad cold, and it was the beginning of the end," she said earlier this year.

"Months later, with thousands of dollars spent on wellness retreats, colonics, acupuncturists, Chinese medicine, endocrinologists and gastroenterologists, I was finally diagnosed."

Along with chronic insomnia, pyrrole results in hair loss and brittle nails that for Melissa "would shatter just by looking at them".
