Massachusetts Nurse Allegedly Strangled Children, Husband Speaks Out

Crime Scene Banner Picture.

Patrick Clancy, the husband of a Massachusetts labor and delivery nurse, recently spoke out in an interview about the tragic events that unfolded last year involving his wife and their three young children. Lindsay Clancy allegedly strangled their children before attempting to take her own life. Patrick emphasized that his wife was not a 'monster,' but someone who was struggling with mental illness.

According to Patrick, Lindsay had sought help for anxiety and insomnia following the birth of their youngest child. Despite her efforts to address her mental health issues, she was diagnosed with severe generalized anxiety disorder. Patrick recounted a distressing incident where Lindsay expressed thoughts of self-harm and harming their children, leading to a hospital visit.

After a brief inpatient program, Lindsay returned home, seemingly in better spirits. Patrick noted a positive change in her demeanor during their daughter's birthday party, giving him hope for her recovery. However, tragedy struck on the evening of January 24, when Patrick returned home to a devastating scene.

Upon discovering his wife's suicide attempt and the children's deaths, Patrick immediately called for help. The authorities arrived to a heartbreaking scene, with two children pronounced dead at the scene and the youngest passing away later in the hospital.

In the aftermath, Lindsay's mental state continued to deteriorate, with Patrick describing her struggles and regrets over the phone. Despite the unimaginable loss, Patrick maintained contact with his wife, seeking answers and trying to understand the events leading up to the tragedy.

As Lindsay awaits trial for the murder of their children, her defense attorney plans to pursue an insanity defense. While prosecutors suspect premeditation based on Lindsay's actions leading up to the incident, a trial date has yet to be set.

Patrick, now residing in New York City, chose to share his side of the story to dispel misinformation surrounding the case. He expressed the profound impact of the tragedy on their family, emphasizing that all that remains now is him and Lindsay.
