Masoom Minawala looked every inch the stunner in this all-pink ensemble from Valentino as she walked the Cannes red carpet. Her look was styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania and was perfect to the core. Masoom spoke exclusively to The Times of India, ETimes before walking the red carpet this year. Here's an excerpt from the interview.
1) What are you wearing this time around at Cannes?
This time around I’m wearing a melange of Indian, Middle Eastern and European designers. I’m extremely excited to experiment with my look but at the same time, I’m staying true to my personal style.
2) What brings you at Cannes yet again?
I’m super excited to be back at the Cannes Film Festival for the third time in a row, being on the red carpet for L’Oréal Paris and representing my country. In fact, this year is a little special and I’m elated to celebrate India being titled as the first ‘country of honour’. I’m pumped to attend the opening of the India pavilion along with other events that highlight the booming media and film industry in India.
3) How do you feel to be back? Please share your experience?
It feels great to be back. I’m sensing as well as radiating, the energy and vibrancy that’s being celebrated at the film festival, especially after the restrictions of the pandemic. I’m the most excited about witnessing India take up the global spotlight as the “first country of honour” and I’d liked to do my bit to continue representing my country.
4) What are your expectations from Cannes this year in terms of Fashion?
I’m actually looking forward to see how people unleash their pandemic fashion creativity. I would love to witness how they channelise their personal style after the pandemic. I’m forecasting that it’s going to be a very bold year in terms of fashion and the Cannes red carpet. I’m also expecting a lot of Indian representation on the red carpet in terms of individuals as well as designers and brands.
5) Whom are you waiting to bump into?
Definitely Deepika Padukone, I am very impressed by her contributions to the coveted jury and the way in which she has gracefully managed to represent India.
