Mason Mount shows off incredible body transformation ahead of new season

Chelsea star Mason Mount has showed off his physique ahead of the new season.

The Blues academy graduate highlighted his incredible transformation over a three-year period as he continues to become more and more influential at Stamford Bridge. Mount has been putting in and yards during the off season as he looks to remain in peak shape.

The 23-year-old is looking for a new contract in west London that matches his importance - currently he pockets £80,000-a-week, making him one of the club's lower earners.

Mount just claimed the club's Player of the Year award for a second straight year and is certainly not resting on his laurels with Chelsea recently returning for pre-season.

Thomas Tuchel employs a high-intensity style at Stamford Bridge, which requires his players to be at the top of their game physically. Mount is also facing plenty of competition as he looks to cement his place as a regular, making 52 appearances last term.

The England international was far from an imposing character when he burst onto the scene with Derby County, but is now a far more bulked out character. Mount scored 13 times last season, but endured a low point when he missed a crucial penalty in the FA Cup final loss to Liverpool.

His boss said after the Wembley heartache: “The penalty will not change anything on my opinion about Mason. If you see his record and the importance of the game that he plays consistently for us he is a key figure in this squad and club. He is a super nice guy and we don’t start doubting now because he misses a penalty.”

Mount has made a total of 159 appearances for the Blues after being handed his opportunity by Frank Lampard. He has remained a key figure following the arrival of Tuchel and already has a Champions League medal following the club's success over Manchester City last year. He's also claimed the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup, but has been runner-up in the FA Cup for three straight years.

The midfielder is also a fully fledged international, becoming a favourite under Gareth Southgate. Mount played a key role for England in their journey to the final of Euro 2020 and is poised to be a key figure at this winter's World Cup in Qatar.Mount has already claimed 31 caps for the Three Lions, scoring on four occasions, including one against Belgium. He started in the final against Italy at Wembley, forming part of a front three, before coming off in extra-time.
