Former midfielder Paul Ince believes Mason Mount could benefit from a challenge away from Stamford Bridge amid Liverpool links.
The Reds have been tentatively connected with a move for the England international as his contract in west London remains unclear. It has been reported prior to the World Cup that talks had been put on hold over an extension with Graham Potter's side.
This summer, he will be entering the final 12 months of his deal with Chelsea. As a result, speculation has arisen surrounding his future with Jurgen Klopp's side among those reportedly interested.

"It's a funny one really because two years ago Mason Mount was bang in form, everyone was raving about him and he was a cert to start for England," Ince told Boylesports.
"Since the change of manager, he's lost his way and Chelsea are trying to sign anyone they can at the moment so there's going to be a rejig at Stamford Bridge.
"Sometimes it's good to have a new challenge because sometimes you can go stale if you stay at one club for too long. Mount is at an age where he needs to be playing every week. He's a very talented player."
A report from the Guardian, last month, suggested that there is a "growing prospect" that Jurgen Klopp's side with plans in place to sign the midfielder should he opt to leave the club he has called home since the age of six.
Under the stewardship of Todd Boehly, Chelsea have enjoyed splashing the cash on bolstering the squad following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and the subsequent arrival of Potter. In their free-spending, they welcomed World Cup-winning midfielder Enzo Fernandez to break the British record.
