Mason Mount's Manchester United bid valuation emerges and more transfer rumours

Manchester United will reportedly bid £50m in their attempt to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea this summer.

The 24-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer amid a clear out from Chelsea in a bid to recoup funds in the transfer market after two windows where the London club spent big under new ownership. Now several departures are on the cards and Mount could move to United.

The midfielder is a homegrown product but only has one year to go on his current Chelsea contract. This summer presents the final opportunity for Chelsea to obtain a substantial transfer fee, or risk losing him for nothing next summer should he not sign a fresh contract.

Mount kept his cards close to his chest regarding his future today when quizzed about it at the Spanish Grand Prix. However, United have already agreed personal terms with the England international.

The question now turns to agreeing a transfer fee with Chelsea in order to allow Mount to move to Old Trafford. And according to the Telegraph, United will launch a bid of £50m for Mount this month. United believe this to be a fair offer and talks =started when the two sides met at Old Trafford towards the end of the Premier League season.

Elsewhere, Spanish publication Sport reports that United have intensified their interest in Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat. Barcelona have also expressed an interest in the Moroccan international who has 12 months left on his deal at the Italian club, but United are said to have intensified talks with the player's representatives over the past 24 hours.
