Mason Mount has again insisted his long-term future lies at Chelsea.
The England international remains a key figure at the club following the appointment of Graham Potter and is the only outfield player to start every game under the former Brighton manager’s watch.
While Mount is believed to have admirers in both the Premier League and abroad, Chelsea have started formal negotiations with his camp over a prospect of a new deal.
Discussions have taken place and the 23-year-old is in line to become one of the club’s highest earners, with new owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital eager to make Mount and Reece James the heart of the Chelsea team for the next decade.
Previously, the midfielder has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, though it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which Chelsea sell him without demanding a huge fee.
When by asked by Tatler of his future and whether or not the kind of money England teammate Jack Grealish was offered to leave Aston Villa would tempt him away, Mount replied: “I dunno.
“The money is…
“I’ve always obviously been a Chelsea boy. I’m very, very happy here.
“We’ve been winning some silverware, which is a big goal of mine, I always want to win things.”
