Mason Mount has equalled a Frank Lampard Chelsea record after he netted twice in the Blues' 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
Mount broke the deadlock after just six minutes at Villa Park, latching onto Tyrone Mings' misjudged header and finishing smartly past Emiliano Martinez.
Despite struggling to contain Steven Gerrard's side during certain periods, only Kepa Arrizabalaga's heroics kept the visitors in front, Mount doubled Chelsea's advantage with Lampard-esq free kick.

The 23-year-old had struggled during the early stages of the campaign under Thomas Tuchel. Nevertheless, Graham Potter's appointment appears to have rejuvenated the former Derby County loanee, with Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards describing Mount as "a new player" under Potter's stewardship.
Having made 173 appearances across all competitions for his boyhood club, Mount has netted on 31 occasions, a record identical to Lampard's at the same stage of his career.
Such a tally draws further comparisons to Mount and the current Everton manager. In terms of playing style, both players had gained a reputation for providing a goal threat from midfield, working hard for their team and offering value from set-pieces. The duo are also big Chelsea supporters and have both each captained the club previously.
Lampard has also played a highly influential role in Mount's career from a managerial perspective, too. He facilitated Mount's breakthrough season in English football whilst in charge of the Rams and handed him his Chelsea debut in 2019.
However, there remains a long way to go if Mount has his eyes set on breaking Lampard's all-time Chelsea goalscoring record. The now 44-year-old scored 211 goals in all competitions for the club.
