Chelsea's preparations for the 2019/20 Premier League season continue tonight as the Blues face RB Salzburg in Austria.
The Blues have had an intense summer of matches to get ready for the upcoming campaign, but with tonight at the Red Bull Arena being the penultimate match of pre-season, things are starting to heat up.
It is a big week for Frank Lampard as he looks to mould his squad, with tonight and Saturday's match against Borussia Monchengladbach being the final chance for players to impress.
There are still several questions for Lampard in regards to his strongest starting XI, while fans might get more of an impression of what it might be this week.
Lampard will also be looking to give his key players extended minutes over the next couple of games so that they can be match sharp for Manchester United on August 11.
That means, the head coach could go for a strong side to start the match, making more changes over the course of the second half.
One of the big battles in the team is between Mason Mount and Ross Barkley. With a 4-2-3-1 the likely way forward for the Blues this season, it means there could be just one spot free for the position behind the striker.
Meanwhile, that striker position is also still not decided, with Lampard set to pick between Michy Batshuayi, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud.
With N'Golo Kante still recovering from his knee injury, the partnership of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic have looked strong in the middle of the park and Lampard appears to be favouring those two players.
With the centre-back positions still up for grabs as well, it could be a big evening for Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen as they fight to partner David Luiz in defence during Antonio Rudiger's absence.
Predicted Chelsea XI: Kepa, Emerson, Luiz, Zouma, Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kovacic, Pulisic, Mount, Pedro, Batshuayi.
