Mason Mount has been slammed for his 'outlandish' demands as Chelsea look to extend the midfielder's contract. The 24-year-old faces an increasingly uncertain future at Stamford Bridge having recently entered the final year-and-a-half of his deal.
One of Todd Boehly's priorities since taking the helm in west London has been to tie Mount down to a long-term future at the club, football.london understands. But, it's believed that negotiations have proven difficult thus far, with the proposed length of contract and wage packet proving to be an issue.
Mount is far from one of the top earners at Chelsea despite being a seasoned England international. Contrary to various reports, it's said that the Cobham graduate wants to stay at his boyhood club, but the feeling is mutual that either party is some way off an agreement, as it stands.

If either side cannot reach an agreement over an extension then Mount will be able to leave the Blues for free in June 2024. football.london understands that Liverpool are long-term admirers of the midfielder, while both Manchester City and Manchester United are thought to be keeping tabs on the situation.
The England international's contract demands have proven to be an issue for Chelsea - and Simon Jordan has slammed him for asking for at least £200,000-per-week (£10.4million per annum). Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Crystal Palace owner labelled Mount's expectations as 'pretty outlandish'.
"His problem currently at Chelsea as far as I understand it, with the contractual situation and a potential move away, is that there are some pretty outlandish demands coming in for salary," Jordan said. "I think they’re in the mid-£200,000 plus.
"My understanding is that the lad wants to stay at Chelsea, but he wants the kind of salary that’s prohibiting that conversation. It’s also prohibiting moving to other football clubs."
Mount has featured 23 times for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, directly contributing towards just five goals. While the midfielder has struggled for form this term, he's been a great success at Stamford bridge for some time now.
