Mason Mount has been showered in praise by Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim after his solid showing in the Europa League.
Mount has endured a tough start to life at Manchester United since his £55 million move in July 2023.
The former Chelsea man has started just nine games in 16 months due to injury. Mason Mount’s lack of football has left fans frustrated, especially given the money United shelled out for him.
Now under a new reign, Mount looks set to be given a chance, following some positive comments from Amorim.
Mason Mount Is A ‘Proper Footballer’, Says Ruben Amorim
The 25-year-old had a positive impact in United’s 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, which was given the nod of approval from his new manager.
“He did a great job (against Bodo/Glimt),” Amorim said. “He did 60 minutes with high intensity and you see in some moments and details that Mason Mount is a proper footballer. We believe a lot … and we especially believe a lot in Mason Mount.
"He wants this so bad, we believe in him a lot" 👏

“ has proven to all of you that he is a talented player. He was European champion – so we believe a lot in him. He has to stay fit. And like all the guys in the team, they are quality players, they have to improve and believe in themselves.”
It’s Mason Mount’s Time To Shine Under Amorim
Should he stay fit, Mason Mount looks set to get some meaningful minutes under Amorim.
Under Erik ten Hag, the playmaker scored just one goal in 18 Premier League appearances and is yet to notch an assist.

But a solid showing in the Europa League and in training looks to have created a solid first impression under the Portuguese boss.
Keeping up a good run of form will also impress new England boss Thomas Tuchel, especially given their former Chelsea connection.
