Mason Burstow attracting significant interest as Chelsea weigh up forward’s future

Chelsea have had significant transfer interest for striker Mason Burstow, who is currently training under Mauricio Pochettino in the United States.

The 19-year-old has put any decision on his future on hold during the early part of pre-season amid loan offers and interest over permanent moves in both England and Europe.

Pochettino has been impressed with the youngster, who was signed from Charlton Athletic last year.

However, a minor muscle issue kept him out of the opening match against Wrexham in North Carolina in Pochettino’s first game in charge.

Burstow could make his bow for the Blues against Brighton in the Premier League Summer Series on Saturday with Chelsea short of strikers.

Nicolas Jackson is the only other out-and-out centre-forward in the squad which led to fellow summer signing Christopher Nkunku playing the second half up front on Wednesday.
