Masked Singer winner Joss Stone ditching Sausage costume to return for final

Joss Stone is to make a triumphant return to The Masked Singer as a star judge after winning the show last year.

The 34-year-old chart topping star stunned fans of the second series of The Masked Singer when she won the contest while dressed as a giant sausage.

Joss will be returning to the show this Saturday night – but will pull up a chair alongside judges Rita Ora, 31, Jonathan Ross, 61, Mo Gilligan, 33, and Davina McCall, 54, instead of singing on stage.

But she won’t be the only past contestant featuring on the finale – as series one winner Nicola Roberts, 36, is set to return as are former contestants Jason Manford, 40, and JLS singer Aston Merrygold, 33, who are to duet with the remaining contestants.

A source told The Sun: "All four celebrities were sensational finalists on the first two series, so this almost feels like an all-stars episode to see out the current season with a bang.

“As last year’s winner, Joss is the perfect choice to invite back to be the latest in a series of guest judges.

"And it’s going to be hilarious to see Jason return to wear his Hedgehog outfit, Nicola in her Queen Bee costume and Aston return as Robin to perform duets."

Girls Aloud star Nicola was Queen Bee when she won series one of the show and will don the costume once again for the grand finale – having also returned to the show out of costume as a guest judge for the season 2 final.

Comedian Jason was dressed as a hedgehog when he was runner up in series one – and boyband member Aston was dressed as a robin.

The returning stars will be duetting with mystery finalists dressed as a mushroom, a panda and a robobunny.

Over the weekend, viewers were stunned to see Destiny’s Child icon Michelle Williams unmasked as the celebrity beneath a rockhopper costume.

While opera singing legend Aled Jones was uncovered as Traffic Cone – despite many fans being convinced the true identity was comedian Rob Beckett.

Rob, 36, has joked he is going to take legal action against ITV after he was ‘replaced’ by 51-year-old Aled during Saturday night’s reveal.

Taking to Twitter after the unmasking, Rob tagged the show and broadcaster in a tweet, writing: "Livid @ITV replaced me with @realaled and re filmed the reveal because I let slip.

"Real Phoebe from Friends Smelly Cat energy."

After the ITV account replied with a laughing face emoji, Rob fired back: "See you in court."

Robe then tweeted back: "Bring the ‘original footage’ with you" alongside a winking emoji.

Panda has been the bookies favourite to win the 2022 series – with fans suspecting either Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia or British singer and TV judge Alesha Dixon to be the star underneath the costume.

Coral's John Hill said in a statement last week: "There is little doubt that the Panda is a professional singer. It has not missed a note so far on the series and it is the clear favourite to prevail now the Poodle is out.

"Natalie Imbruglia remains the favourite to be behind the mask, however, Alesha Dixon's odds have been slashed following last weekend's show.”

The Masked Singer concludes on Saturday night on ITV at 7pm.
