Masked Singer's Rhino has identity 'confirmed' by viewers who recognise voice straight away

Masked Singer viewers have declared they would be ‘stunned’ if Rhino wasn’t Busted star Charlie Simpson.

A week after Chris Kamara was the first celeb to get the boot from the new series, Rhino made his debut in front of that panel, studio audience and millions of viewers at home.

Rhino sang Snow Patrol classic Chasing Cars in a bid to make it through to the next round and he made a fine first impression.

Guesses from the panel and viewers at home included Rylan Clark and James Arthur and, while some fans were adamant they’d clocked X Factor winner James in the costume because of his vocals, others were 100% sure they heard Charlie’s distinctive singing voice almost as soon as Rhino started his performance.

One took to Twitter to post: “If rhino on the masked singer isn’t charlie simpson i’ll be STUNNED,” with another tweeting: “ Omg, Rhino has to be Charlie Simpson. All the clues point to Busted and I've been listening to them since I was 8, and it sounds too like him not to be. And if it is I'm not gonna lie, I'll freak out so much.”

Taking things further, another predicted Rhino could be on for Masked Singer victory, writing: “Charlie Simpson’s voice is amazing and I think he could be the first male winner of the series”

Rhino performs for a second time on Saturday night, along with Jacket Potato and Fawn, two other characters who viewers are convinced of the identity of.

It took just a few lines of Jacket Potato singing Viva Las Vegas a few weeks ago for people to be certain it was Shane Richie, while many clues including the mention of ‘black coffee’ and ‘wonderland’ left people in no doubt that Fawn is Natalie Appleton from All Saints.
