She is The Masked Singer contestant who has got everyone talking and viewers of the ITV show and fans of a certain group claim to have found 'undeniable' proof that it is Steps star Claire Richards hiding inside the costume, with a video from the past proving to be her undoing.
When she made her debut on the series launch at the start of this month, Knitting prompted a flurry of guesses on Twitter, with the likes of Cheryl, Strictly star Helen Skelton and famous crafters Stacey Solomon and Sara Davies all mooted to be the celebrity behind the mask.
However, as far as some fans are concerned, there has been no doubt that it's Claire, who shot to fame along with the rest of Steps when their first single 5,6,7,8 hit the charts in 1997, in the Knitting outfit. While it was her flawless vocals alone that led them to that conclusion, the appearance of magpie, seen as a nod to Steps song One for Sorrow and the number 26 - the sum of 5+6+7+8, sealed the deal.

Knitting was back in action on Saturday night's Masked Singer, having to perform twice as she ended up in the bottom two.. And it was the first of those songs, No More Tears (Enough is Enough) that landed straight on the radar o Steps fans, who remembered Claire sang it on the band's Party on the Dancefloor tour a few years ago.
It didn't take long for footage of the performance to make its way onto Twitter, with those who saw it, declaring that it confirmed beyond any shadow of a doubt that it's Clare in the Knitting costume. The evidence is pretty conclusive too, especially when mixed with Knitting's version, as the vocals sound very, very similar.
One tweeted: "Watch this comparison between the performance and the tour version and try to tell me that’s not @_ClaireRichards." with another reacting: "If u listen to masked singer uk knitting singing enough is enough u would recognise the voice straight away
Interestingly, Claire is an avid viewer of The Masked Singer and, right as the finger of suspicion was being pointed firmly in her direction, she took to Twitter to guess at Jane McDonald for Knitting
While it was Claire's voice that was the big giveaway for Steps fans who tuned into Saturday night's episode, there were two further clues that added up to Knitting being her. There was a mention of the future being in two halves, a nod to Steps releasing two versions of their album What The Future Holds and Knitting asking someone to turn on the light, a not so subtle reference to the band's 2017 single Scared of the Dark.
