Terrifying footage captured the moment a gang of masked prowlers were caught trying to break into a Scottish home as the owners slept.
Lynn and Paul Skinner were left shaken by the incident as they were awoken at 1am in the morning after hearing strange noises outside. The couple, from Pettycur Bay in Fife, reviewed their CCTV footage which captured a group of four intruders dressed in black attempting to enter the property.
The incident took place during the early hours of Thursday morning, March 23, with gang seen rounding the side of the house and pointing to a ground floor window. One of them also climbs up the patio to peer inside.

Speaking to the Record about the terrifying incident, Paul and Lynn's son Luke say his parents have been left shaken.
The 28-year-old said: "When my parents saw the video, they immediately contacted the police. My mum is shaken up but they don't think there is a chance of the gang coming back.
"Their house is right out the way - there is a mile long road just to reach the estate. It's the only way in and out and the houses are right by the beach.
"There's never been any kind of crime there before, so I think everyone will be getting CCTV put in now."
The gang fled after Paul entered the bathroom and banged on the window. It wasn't until later on Thursday morning that the family saw the footage.
Luke believes his parents' home was targeted because of their new cars parked in the driveway. In the clip, a member of the group appeared to be carrying a device which could be a signal booster - a piece of tech which allows thieves to unlock cars remotely by cloning keys left nearby a front door.
He added: "It looked like the group had a signal booster, which can copy the code from a car key and be used to break into the vehicle. I think they were targeted because they have new cars out the front of the house."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called on Thursday, 23 March, to a report of people seen acting suspiciously around 1am in the Pettycur Bay area of Kinghorn. Enquiries are ongoing."
