A masked gunman stormed into a pub and demanded cash from terrified staff.
Police officers were called to the Railway pub on Bridge Road in Litherland at around 2.05am over reports of a man holding what appeared to be a gun entering a pub and demanding money from the till. The man is believed to have taken a quantity of cash, left the pub and made off on a pedal bike towards Church Road.
No injuries were reported following the incident but members of staff were left shaken. The suspect has been described as a white man, around 6ft tall, wearing all black clothing with his face covered, speaking with a Liverpool accent.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact Merseyside Police. Detective Inspector Paul Gillies said: “We are appealing for information following a robbery at the Railway pub on Sunday morning.
“We understand that there were people in the pub at the time of the incident. If this was you, please come forward as information you hold could be vital to our enquiries. Similarly if you were driving in the Church Road area in the early hours of Sunday morning and have dashcam footage then please review it and let us know if you see the man described on a bike or anything suspicious.
“No-one should be subjected to this level of fear and intimidation while they try to earn an honest living, so please come forward and we will do everything in our power to put this offender before the courts. Whether you come forward to us directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers, all information will be acted upon.”
