Masked Dancer's Pearly King 'confirmed as Danny Dyer' after EastEnders hint

The Masked Dancer viewers think they know who has donned the Pearly King costume on the ITV series.

The show’s host Joel Dommett appeared alongside the panel including newcomer Peter Crouch, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Oti Mabuse, who are tasked with guessing the celebrity identities.

After a series of clues, viewers were quick to guess the mystery act was none other than an EastEnders star - after he was described as the 'Beast from the East End'.

Clues for the star under the lion-themed costume included the letter D, references to Cockney rhyming slang and being an actor.

He stated he is often mistaken for his character, while there was also a deck of cards - and he's not afraid of "hard work".

Taking to Twitter, viewers said it had to be EastEnders actor Danny Dyer.

One viewer said: " Pearly King HAS to be Danny Dyer. There was reference to the EastEnd, DD and of course on Who Do You Think You Are Danny discovered he was descended from an actual king of England."

Another wrote: " I'm guessing Danny Dyer as pearly king."

A third added: " Danny dyer obviously," while another fan said: "I'm guessing Danny Dyer as pearly king."

It comes after the first elimination of the series last weekend, that saw Astronaut unmasked as Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe.

In the first edition, Candlestick, Scissors, Astronaut, Odd Socks, Prawn Cocktail and Pillar and Post took to the stage - with Candlestick, Astronaut and Pillar and Post dancing it out for survival.

Astronaut did not prove to be a hit, and was soon unmasked by the panel - and many couldn't believe it when Jesse appeared.

When asked why he decided to take part, Jesse said: “I thought it would be fun because dance is something that really intimidates me so it's a fear that I wanted to face.

"This has been unbelievable, it's one of the most zany things I’ve ever done in my career but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself.”

The Masked Dancer airs on ITV at 6.30pm on Saturdays.
