Robbers ambushed a businessman outside a Chelsea gym and pistol whipped him before fleeeing with his £4,000 Rolex.
The victim got out of his Mercedes at the KX club in Draycott Avenue, off King’s Road, when the gang swooped.
They jumped out of a grey Range Rover, hit him over the head with butt of a pistol and grabbed his watch, according to witnesses.
Video footage shot by a passerby showed blood on the pavement as the victim holds a t-shirt on his head to stem the blood from an injury while gym staff help him on the pavement outside.
A witness told Mail Online: “It was terrifying that something like this could take place in broad daylight and that guns are being brandished so close to a school.
“The victim had just emerged from his Mercedes G-Wagon and was going into the gym when these guys sped up in a stolen grey Range Rover and grabbed him, hitting him over the head with a gun and taking the watch from him.
“Everyone on the pavement just ran in all different directions and the robbers jumped into their car and sped off.”
A bystander, whose voice could be heard on a video posted online said: “I was inside – they came from outside, pointed a gun, stole the watch and ran away.”
A gang of robbers who carried out a string of knifepoint robberies in West London, including Draycott Avenue, were jailed for a total of 24 years at Isleworth Crown Court in June.
They threatened victims with a large knife or machete before stealing expensive items like watches and bags. They were capured after posing for photographs with luxury goods they had stolen.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 5.30pm on Friday, 15 September to reports of a robbery in Draycott Avenue, SW3.
“A man was approached by a group of males who threatened him before assaulting him and stealing his watch.
One of the suspects was reported to be in possession of a firearm. The victim was not seriously injured.
