At the behest of the Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, the international chic set tucked into a fish and chip dinner in Marylebone last night.
“Demi gave me a semi” said actor Damian Lewis, in the smoking area outside, as a throng counting Demi Moore, Poppy Delevingne, Rosemary Ferguson, Ladies Lola Bute and Mary Charteris, Countess Debonnaire von Bismarck and Jamie Winstone dodged the pushy paps leering outside the usually less buzzy chippy, Seashell of Lisson Grove.
The supper was thrown for stylist and US Vogue Fashion editor Tabitha Simmons who has worked on a shoe capsule collection with British brand Malone Souliers “defined by English eclecticism and eccentric charm”. During her speech, Simmons thanked Perfect Magazine founder Katie Grand (key for last night's stellar turn out), who helped them host the bash, and Princess Maria-Olympia, “for saying I should do it in a fish and chip shop, because I love them.”
Most happily tucked in (a few complained of the bloating) before Mr. Whippy ice creams with 99 flakes were devoured by London’s new flock of It girls, and washed down by the Delevingne sisters’ prosecco, Della Vite. Jazzy De Lisser, Tish Weinstock and Vivienne Westwood’s granddaughter Cora Core were all present, joining fashion’s established guard, Emilia Wickstead, Giles Deacon, Elizabeth Saltzman and Derek Blasberg.
Guests were most star-struck by one Pilaf, however — Moore’s tea cup chihuahua, and one of the most jet set pooches out there. On Monday night she joined the actress for Gucci’s mega show and rave at the Tate Modern, she has also been front row at Versace in Milan, and is on a first name basis with Dakota Johnson. As evening slipped into night, Pilaf was whisked into a baying Mercedes, eyes bulging and tongue flopping sideways — no doubt onto the next.
