Maryland Governor Wes Moore, along with several other officials, visited the scene of a collision on Wednesday. The governor's spokesperson stated that Governor Moore surveyed the recovery area to assess the damage. He, along with federal and local partners, boarded a Coast Guard ship to gain a closer view and better understanding of the ship's path and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The spokesperson emphasized that this visit was part of the Governor's ongoing efforts to maintain a strong working relationship with the Coast Guard and federal partners. The purpose was also to express gratitude to the first responders working at the scene and to gather more information about the events that transpired.
In addition to Governor Moore, other officials present at the scene included Senator Ben Cardin, Mayor Brandon Scott, Congressman David Trone, County Executive Johnny Olszewski, and County Executive Steuart Pittman.
