Mary Poppins Returns: Emily Blunt looks practically perfect as she dazzles with husband John Krasinski

Emily Blunt looked practically perfect in every way as she celebrated at the world premiere of her new film, Mary Poppins Returns.

Blunt, who plays the loveable magic nanny from the hit Disney classic, looked stunning in a billowing white dress as she worked the red carpet hand-in-hand with her husband Krasinski.

The pair couldn’t stop smiling as they posed affectionately for the cameras at the star-studded Hollywood bash.

Blunt was also joined by legendary actor Dick Van Dyke who is the only actor from the original 1964 musical to feature in the new film.

Dyke, who plays the son of his original character Bert, put on an animated display as he posed with his wife Arlene Silver.

The 92-year-old planted a kiss on her cheek before mingling with co-stars Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Whishaw, who turned heads in a stand-out print suit.

Mary Poppins Returns follows Blunt's character as she returns to help the Banks family decades after looking after Jane and Michael from the original.

Blunt this week revealed her husband was reduced to tears watching the film, and joked he hasn’t stopped since.

“Ben Whishaw’s first song is so gorgeous when he’s talking about the loss of his wife,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I think he sort of cried from then on wards, you know. He’s still crying now. He kept saying, ‘What’s happening to me?’ when he was watching it.”

The Jack Ryan star previously opened up about sobbing uncontrollably, saying Blunt feared he didn’t like the film after he jumped up and ran to the back of the screening room to find a napkin after running out of his box of tissues.

Speaking on The Ellen Degeneres Show he said: “I was pushing through all of the muffins and bagels that were in the back looking for napkins. I was like, ‘I need anything to stop this crying!’

“I was crying so much I blew through the tissue box in 20 minutes, had to go to the napkins, and then when I ran out of napkins it was all sweater.”

Mary Poppins is slated for UK cinema release on December 21
