Marvin Harrison gone before Cardinals pick in Daniel Jeremiah’s new mock draft

Many have projected that three quarterbacks will be with the first three picks of the 2024 NFL. The Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders and New England Patriots all look set on having new quarterbacks.

However, a new trend has the Patriots acquiring a quarterback via trade or free agency, meaning the most coveted player for Arizona Cardinals fans — Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. — is off the board when the Cardinals select fourth overall.

In his latest mock draft for NFL.com, draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah projects that exact scenario. The Bears and Commanders take quarterbacks, the Patriots take Harrison, leaving the Cardinals to make a decision. Do they pick or do they trade back?

They don’t trade back and LSU’s Jayden Daniels falls to the New York Giants with the sixth overall pick.

What happens with the Cardinals? Below are their two picks in the first round in these projections from Jeremiah.

No. 4 pick: LSU WR Malik Nabers

Malik Nabers 8 dives for a ball as the LSU Tigers take on Texas A&M in Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, November 25, 2023.

It would make sense to take Nabers.

Arizona needs to get more dynamic in the passing game. A healthy Kyler Murray paired with Nabers would be fun to watch.

It would be almost as fun as Murray and Harrison, but that isn’t an option.

Nabers is a complete package.

They could trade back like they did a year ago but Nabers is an elite talent and should be impactful in the passing game almost immediately.

No. 27 pick: Missouri EDGE Darius Robinson

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals could go with defensive players with the rest of their six picks in the first three rounds of the draft and it wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Adding Robinson, who impressed at the Senior Bowl, wouldn’t be a bad pick.

Robinson is a versatile, explosive lineman who had a really good week of practice at the Senior Bowl.

He is big, listed at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, so he might be more of an interior guy for the Arizona defense. He had 8.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss last season.
