Marvin Bartley makes astonishing Rangers claim from 'inside the dressing room'

Former Hibs star Marvin Bartley reckons there were Rangers players whose attitude was so poor they simply focused on outlasting manager Philippe Clement in his job.

The pundit was live on Radio Clyde's Superscoreboard show when he revealed he agreed with the Ibrox club's decision to extend the Belgian's contract ahead of the Premiership season.

Bartley stated that sources from inside Rangers' dressing room had told him some players were simply planning to sit tight and wait for the next boss once the axe inevitably fell.

He told Radio Clyde: "I think I think there's a big couple of weeks ahead. Obviously, he was given the new contract and and I'll be honest, I was in agreement with that.

"From what I was hearing coming out of the of the dressing room, there's was one or two players that had the mentality of 'I'll outlast the manager'.

"I've been in dressing rooms before and it's very difficult for managers to turn around a club if players think that that's a possibility. But they need to do more. Regardless of anything, regardless of what's going on behind the scenes.

"I think somebody was saying that Rangers have spent north of £15m on transfers. They should not be losing to Kilmarnock and that's not me being disrespectful. It shouldn't happen."
