Mutants are no longer new on "Marvel Rivals" as it already introduced several iconic names from Marvel Comics' "X-Men," such as Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, and more. However, there are still many characters from the mutant universe who have yet to make their debut.
Now, a new rumor claims that the game has hinted on two omega-level mutants coming soon.
NetEase Games previously confirmed that they will be rolling out new characters at a faster pace for gamers to enjoy, drawing from the massive list of heroes and villains found in the different universes of Marvel.
'Marvel Rivals' New Character Rumors: Who Are They?
A new post on Reddit by a user called Sypher_04 has unveiled two new characters that are speculated to be coming to "Marvel Rivals" sometime in the future, and this information reportedly came from the developers themselves.
While there are no official confirmations yet, the two characters were discovered on an event page of the game, with the real names and codenames of these heroes appearing under the challenges of this season.
The character referenced by the data miner is none other than Jean Grey or the Phoenix, but in her reference in the game, she is called "Marvel Girl," which is also a known alias of the character.
While Jean Grey was not referred to as The Phoenix here, it may indicate that she would not be manifesting her powers from the Phoenix Force in the version that arrives in "Marvel Rivals."
On the other hand, the game also referenced to one Joshua Foley, and for avid X-Men fans and Marvel Comics readers, Foley is best known to be a mutant that is part of the Xavier's team and is called "Elixir."
While Foley is not as popular as Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, and other members of the X-Men's usual cast, the hero is a significant character in the comics and has made significant contributions to the X-Men on several occasions.
According to GameRant, these characters are expected to debut come the next season, Season 3, particularly as the current one already features a mutant from the Marvel universe, Emma Frost.
Omega-Level Mutants from X-Men Debuting Soon?
These two characters are both known as omega-level mutants, which means that their powers are considered limitless. While this would not be felt much in the game, this hints that both may be joining the other when they make their debuts in the game.
However, as argued by GameRant, there are previous claims from past reports that players are expecting Captain Marvel to be the featured hero coming to "Marvel Rivals" in the future, and she will be accompanied by Marvel Girl/Jean Grey.
This latest development now puts Captain Marvel out of the equation and replaces her with Elixir/Joshua Foley instead, but again, all these are just rumors as of press time.
That being said, the next character that is expected to arrive at "Marvel Rivals" is the cynical robot that has tormented the Avengers for years, Ultron, and the character will be the second character appearing in Season 2 of the game.
