Actor Jeremy Renner is said to be in critical but stable condition following an accident while plowing snow on New Year's Day.
A spokesperson for the Hawkeye star told the Hollywood Reporter late on Sunday night (January 1) that Jeremy had suffered injuries in a "weather-related accident".
"We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today," the spokesperson said. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care."
Renner, 51, was reportedly airlifted to hospital, according to Showbiz outlet Deadline. The 'Hurt Locker' star, who has been nominated for two Academy Awards over the course of his career, owns a ranch above Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains - a region that was hit by a fierce snowstorm on New Year's Eve.
Renner tweeted a photo of the conditions in the area earlier in December, writing: “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke." The picture showed a car fully submerged in snow and ice.
He also shared several clips on Instagram of himself driving a large snow plow. "Nearly done with sledding the hill for the kids," he captioned one of the videos.
