Martine McCutcheon says menopause battle is 'game changer' as she shows off slim frame

Martine McCutcheon told fans she felt like she was 'losing her mind' as she opened up about going through the menopause.

The former EastEnders star took to social media to speak about how she is going through perimenopause.

The 46-year-old actress, who has shared her weight loss journey over the last year, revealed she has started Hormone Replacement Therapy to help tackle her symptoms, which she says has been a 'game changer'.

Martine praised her celeb pal Davina McCall for giving her advice about how to deal with changes as well as thanking her menopause doctor Naomi Potter.

She said: "It’s been quite a game changer for me, there’s still some adjustments and tweaks to make.

"I've been really so lucky to be guided by the force of nature that is Davina and Naomi Potter is a godsend to women going through this time.

"When we are all losing our minds this lady is calm, collected and so wise about the whole situation."

Martine recently revealed that she would be making a return to acting.

She said: "I’m doing a movie, playing the very small part of an ex-ballerina, with John Cleese in Budapest in Hungary this year. I am starting to look at other things too."

Martine first found fame as she played Tiffany Mitchell in EastEnders from 1995 to 1998.

This then led to a role as a Downing Street PA in Love Actually where she worked alongside A-lister Hugh Grant which made her a household name.

After this, Martine took a break from the acting world as she knew she wanted to be a mum.

She tied the knot with songwriter Jack in 2012 and the pair have son Rafferty seven together.

Martine suffered miscarriages in her thirties and said it took her longer to have a family that she initially thought.

Last year she took part in The Masked Singer, performing as Swan, and then completed a live tour of the ITV show in April 2022.

Martine admitted that she has had to overcome an addiction to Diet Coke.

The mum-of-one found herself drinking up to eight cans a day.

This led to her being judged by other mums when she took her son to school which made her think she needed to make a change.

The Sun reported that the Love Actually star said: "I don’t really drink tea or coffee so the caffeine in it was my thing. I’d wake up then be walking my seven-year-old into the playground with a can of Diet Coke and the mothers looked at me disgusted, absolutely disgusted — 'She’s not got her posh coffee cup, she’s rocked up with a Diet Coke'.

"I was drinking it at that time of day and even before I went to bed. I always had a can next to me. I loved that little buzz it gave me."

However she was able to eventually kick her habit.
