Martine McCutcheon confuses fans with amazing beach bum in cheeky holiday post

Martine McCutcheon sparked confusion and inexplicable anger when she shared a photograph of a woman walking along a beach via Instagram as she pined for a holiday.

The 45-year-old ex-EastEnders actress hinted that she is in the mood for a bit of sun, sand, sea and more as she took to social media to express her desire to hit the beach.

The actress shared a photo of a woman walking away from a camera wearing a chic white bikini while clutching a pair of flip-flops in one hand and a beach bag in the other.

While the woman in the shot also sported a classic summer hat as she gently wandered across a sandy landscape in the sunshine.

Martine shared the image on her main Instagram feed along with a caption reading “Holidays please!” and with a cover version of the Billy Joel song Vienna playing over the image.

Some fans were encouraged by the image, with one writing: “Oh yes! That feeling of sand, sea and sun is one of the best.”

And another commented: “Can’t wait for summer holidays this year… they’ve been very missed since the pandemic.”

The snap did, however, cause confusion among Martine’s fans as they were unsure if the woman in the snap was her or not.

Martine likely would not have anticipated the bitter backlash from fans (Instagram)

The model in the photo had a number of tell-tale tattoos that proved it was not Martine – as while the actress herself does have at least five inkings on her body, they do not match those seen on the woman in the photograph.

And as a result, some fans began to target Martine over her body.

One wrote: “Why she is so skinny?? She looked so beautiful and healthy but she looks different and got a lollipop head.”

Another bitter follower wrote: “Have something to eat love.”

While another accused Martine of trying to deceive her followers, writing: “That is a really awful and frankly poorly photo of you. Bless.”

Many other fans, however, defended the ex-soap actress from the cruel comments.

One wrote: “Personally I don't think this is her anyway but even if it Is..wow the comments people are making, wtf is wrong with people , what she looks like what she does and what she posts has f*** all to do with anyone.

“Anyone who has made negative comments towards this post is an absolute clown.

“Get a life mind ur business and if u don't have anything nice to say keep scrolling or even better unfollow, some people really do need to seek help If they think its OK to say such negative things about a person they don't even know!”
