Martin Roberts issues heartfelt message saying fans' response 'helped more than you will ever know'

Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martin Roberts has spoken out after the outpouring of love and support of friends and fans moved him during a difficult time. He said: "I genuinely can't tell you the difference it has made".

The BBC presenter shared an emotional video last week in which he revealed the passing of his father. He told social media followers that his dad had died peacefully at the age of 90. After sharing the news and saying it was "something we all have to deal with" he opened up to explained how "alone and horrible" he felt.

As tears fell down his face, Martin reached out: "So any words you've got would be appreciated. I don't even know if I'll post this but... anyway." The response to the video was overwhelming and as messages poured in, the 59-year-old responded to the reaction with a 'thank you'. During the video he also revealed that he thought he'd had a 'sign'.

Out walking with his dogs he told followers: "Nature, to me, is my comfort blanket". Continuing: "I am humbled and so thankful to everybody taking the time to send me messages. I genuinely can't tell you the difference it has made. You've gone out of your way and I'm reading them all."

He went on: "They warm my heart and they are making such a difference at this time, I reached out for support and you've given it - I honestly can't thank you enough."

The presenter, famed for his work on the BBC property auction show went on to explain that while he was out walking he thought he had received a heavenly message.

He said: "I don't know if you're into this type of thing but white feathers are a message from the angels". Pointing a feathers on the ground he said " I've never seen so many white feathers in one place... so along with your kind wishes... this is really special, right."

Martin had paid tribute to his father in the original video, saying: "My dad died yesterday. He was 90 and he had a great life and he died peacefully, he died at home and he wasn't in pain so that's great but it doesn't... well it does help but it doesn't help right now". The TV star then broke down. He added: "The loss of a parent is something we all have to deal with and there's much worse losses I know, the loss of a child and stuff like that. But right now I feel really alone and horrible."
