Martin Roberts has been inundated with support after taking to Instagram to announce the death of his dad.
The Homes Under The Hammer host took to the social media platform to share the news of his dad's passing in an emotional post on Thursday. He was 90.
Martin said in the video: "So I don't know if I should really be posting this video or not but, I guess people deal with things in different ways.
"This is a very private thing but I kind of just need to surround myself with as many people as I can who care right now."
He continued: "My dad died yesterday. He was 90 and he had a great life and he died peacefully, he died at home and he wasn't in pain so that's great but it doesn't... well it does help but it doesn't help right now," Martin then broke down.
The 59-year-old concluded: "The loss of a parent is something we all have to deal with and there's much worse losses I know, the loss of a child and stuff like that.
"But right now I feel really alone and horrible. So any words you've got would be appreciated," Martin said as tears could be seen rolling down his face.
Martin's former Homes Under The Homes co-host Lucy Alexander, who worked with him for more than 15 years on the BBC property show, was one of the first to comment on his post.
She replied: "Very difficult to watch you in pain - I’m glad you are expressing it though. You have amazing memories. I know how close you were to your Dad. He’s with your mum now."
One fan wrote: "You are amazing Martin for sharing….this will help more people than you know. Sending you all our love."
Another commented: "So sorry for your loss Martin. How brave of you to post this and not suffer alone. It doesn’t matter how old your Pa was, it’s still devastating to lose him. Keep reaching out. You are loved."
A third fan said: "Holding you in my thoughts and prayers today Martin. You have no idea how much you and Homes Under got me through 6 months of Chemo and will be forever grateful, much love at this sad time xx."
A fourth follower responded: "So sorry to hear this. Losing a parent is a huge change of your own sense of identity xx sending hugs x."
