Martin Odegaard delivers honest verdict on his potential Arsenal chant ahead of West Ham clash

Martin Odegaard has sent Arsenal fans a message regarding a potential chant ahead of Sunday's clash against West Ham United.

The Gunners recovered from a run of poor form earlier this month as they clinched victories against Chelsea and Manchester United last week to send them back above local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race for top-four. Next up for Mikel Arteta's men is the Hammers, who are set to be without any recognised centre-halves following Craig Dawson's sending off last weekend.

And ahead of the trip to east London, Arsenal playmaker Odegaard has admitted that he loves the chants that his teammates have whilst claiming that he trusts the fans to come up with a good one for him too. Speaking on the Stadium Astro YouTube channel, he said: "I don’t know [what my chant should be], that’s up to the fans, I trust them.

"I love the songs they have already for the other players and the team. It’s not too important to me, they can do what they want." The 23-year-old has certainly played well enough this season to earn a chant from the Gunners faithful.

In fact, the Norway captain ranks fifth in the Premier League for shot-creating actions per 90 minutes this season - ahead of the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-Min. He has also chipped in in front of goal this term, finding the back of the net on six occasions in the league, making him the club's third-highest scorer behind Hale End academy graduates Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
