Martin O'Neill was left delighted after his son-in-law won an Academy Award on Sunday night.
O'Neill's daughter is married to James Friend who worked on the cinematography for All Quiet on the Western Front.
And the O'Neill family will have been in a celebratory mood with Friend's name called out at the Oscars.
The former Ireland boss took to social media after his son-in-law was nominated, saying: "What a wonderful day!!! Huge congratulations to my son-in-law James Friend for his cinematography #Oscar nomination for his superb work on #AllQuietOnTheWesternFront".
"Brilliant film and brilliant filmmaking team, well done everyone involved".
The movie would win four awards: Best Original Score, Best Cinematography, Best Production design, and Best International Feature.
