Martin Lewis says two million drivers need to take action to avoid the possibility of being hit with a £1,000 fine. The financial expert revealed many people aren't aware or forget to check when their photo driving licence will expire.
Photo driving licences normally need replacing every 10 years to ensure the image on the card is an accurate representation of what someone looks like. Many people may have no idea when their driving licence expires, reports BirminghamLive.
Martin said it it important all motorists check and ensure their documentation is up to date. This will help them avoid being hit with a penalty which could be as much as £1,000.

The consumer champion said on his MoneySavingExpert.com website: "Are you one of 2m whose photo driving licence has expired? UK photo driving licences usually expire after 10 years - so if you've got one, take a quick look at its 4b 'expiry date' label. If you don't renew, you ultimately risk being fined.
"It's easy to forget, but a quick check now could save you a fine of up to £1,000 if your photocard's expired. It's an annoying £14 to renew (£17 if you renew by post), but that's a far better option than the fine.
"There are a few dates printed on the photocard, but the one you need is the photo expiry date printed on section 4b on the front of the card. If you really can't find your photocard, see how to renew below."
He added: "You should be sent a reminder and form a few weeks before your licence expires. However, as many miss this or forget, it's well worth making a note of when yours expires.
"Though the photocard needs to be renewed every 10 years, in general driving licences are valid until you're 70, after which it needs renewing every three years. If you only need to update your address or name, or you're over 70 and you're just renewing it, this is free. There's no limit to the number of times you can update your name and address for free."
