Martin Lewis has shared a way energy customers could save money amid surging price hikes.
The consumer champion will front the ITV news programme every Monday throughout September alongside Susanna Reid. The episodes have been dubbed "Martin's Money Mondays" as the finance guru takes questions from viewers on the mounting cost of living crisis.
The average energy bill will skyrocket again in October as the price cap rises by 80%. A viewer named Bob contacted the show and asked Martin whether it is possible to save money by putting "shedloads of credit" on a pre-paid meter.

The finance guru explained this was not possible on a gas or pre-paid electricity smart meter. However, he said viewers could "jimmy the system" to make savings if they are on a non-smart electricity meter.
He added: "Many have a limit of £250 that you can top up so you would be able to jimmy the system so you could buy energy to use in October at the September price, but it will be firm by firm.
"Scottish Power said no last time and I presume it will be the same this time. But with other firms on non smart electricity meters, then yes you may be able to do that."
