Martin Lewis warned students they will receive very little increase to their payments for the next academic year
The Money Saving Expert joined This Morning to take viewers' calls, touching on help to buy ISAs and energy rebates. An alarming conversation occurred when a woman asked whether or not her son should take a student apartment with bills included or focus on them individually.
Martin said he wouldn't be able to give a clear answer without seeing the agreement in person but used the topic to issue a stark warning to students arriving or continuing in September.

With the cost of living crisis rising and payments being issued to those in need across the United Kingdom, he said students should not expect the same help.
He said: "The biggest issue for students next year is we are not seeing the maintenance loan, the living loan that students get, going up by anything close to inflation and that is going to make things really tight for many students next year."
