Martin Lewis issued a fresh scam warning during an appearance on This Morning.
The consumer champion responded to viewer's questions during a call in segment on today's episode of ITV's flagship daytime programme. Wednesday's edition was fronted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
However, the finance guru interjected as Holly read out a claim from a viewer named Sarah that Martin "championed Bitcoin purchases". The caller added: "They are asking for £2,000 to be transferred over and then transferred back. Can you tell me if it is genuine?"

Martin has long campaigned against the use of his trusted image in bogus advertisements and urged the caller to be vigilant of this "scam". He said: "Bitcoin is a speculative investment. I don't cover speculative investments so I don't talk about it.
"I'm not going to go into whether it's good or bad. That is a big debate that is out there. Some people love it, others say it's destabilising. I certainly wouldn't put any more money than you can afford to lose in there but it may well make a lot of money for you if it goes right."
Martin has previously sued Facebook and prompted the government to change the Online Safety Bill to clampdown on hoax adverts. The Money Saving Expert reiterated the warning on today's programme and said any advertisement using his image is "lying, scamming thieves trying to steal your money".
He added: "Do not give them your money and report them to the police. I've been campaigning on this for years but unfortunately there's still a lot of people to get the message out to and these scammers are sophisticated and very clever."
