Martin Lewis ' MoneySavingExpert website has revealed when to get the biggest supermarket yellow sticker discounts.
Yellow stickers are discounted products that are approaching the end of their shelf life - but are still perfectly fine to eat.
Some stores will reduce their prices by as much as 75% - or even more - meaning shoppers can drastically cut their food bill.
On the MSE forum - which was flagged in the latest MoneySavingExpert newsletter - supermarket staff and shoppers have used their insider knowledge to point out the best time to grab yellow stickers.
As a rough guide, the first yellow stickers tend to appear mid-morning, and then reductions begin to climb towards the early evening.

But, reduction times vary not just by supermarket but by store - and it can be particularly dependent on opening times.
The website also recommends customers to look out for products that are damaged or nearing their sell-by dates.
Staff have the authority to reduce prices at their individual discretion and so it recommends approaching them with this product.
Supermarket employees on the forum unanimously agreed: “We will reduce prices for friendly customers – but if you're rude and demand a reduction, forget it.”
Another point to note is that much of the food that's reduced will be because it's close to its use-by date, so it is likely that you will need to consume fresh items quickly.
