Martin Lewis appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday after a huge energy price cap hike that will leave millions of households devastated was confirmed.
Energy prices will soar by 80% from October 1, regulator Ofgem has announced. The energy regulator says the idea of reviewing its price cap more often is so energy companies can provide more accurate pricing for customers.
With many of us already struggling to cope amid the cost of living crisis, the price hike comes as frightening news.

Mr Lewis has previously warned that Britain will face a dire winter as the prices continue to spiral. And he is now calling on the Government to step in and do more - or "people will die".
He said put lives at risk shocking far from surprising, need urgent government intervention. The finance guru went on to explain what the "price cap" means.
Mr Lewis said: "[It is] a cap on the unit rates you pay, these have gone up by about 80%. The figure quoted is what the cap would be for someone who has typical usage, but most people don't have typical usage, and there is no maximum amount you can pay. You could easily be paying five, ten thousand pounds a year."
The Money Saving Expert founder also said further hikes in April 2023 are currently predicted to see the average home's bills rise by a further 51% - to £5,386 a year.
