Martin Lewis has issued a warning to those living in the UK ahead of the first £66 energy bill discount.
Soon millions of households will receive the non-repayable discount from the government this winter with a £400 discount being paid to consumers over the course of six months.
The first energy payment is set to land in bank accounts this month however many are unsure when this will be.

It comes at a time where the cost of living crisis continues to soar with the likes of shopping and petrol bills just some of the essentials that are rising.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday (October 3), host Susanna Reid read out questions from concerned viewers and posed the questions to money guru, Martin Lewis, who last week struggled to answer questions due to the severity of the cost of living crisis.
Reading one tweet out loud, Susanna asked Martin: "Any ideas on when in October the first £67 gets credited to electricity? I keep getting vague emails about October but nothing more specific.'"
Martin replied: "It's firm-by-firm. Some people will have it credited, some people will have their bills reduced.
"If you're on a non-smart prepayment meter, you will be sent a voucher by text or email or mail to your contacted details. Most important to understand... you should never give anyone your bank details, you do not have to claim these payments.
"Whatever system you're on, you do not have to claim. So if you're getting anything telling you, 'fill in your details here', it's very likely to be a scam."
The Martin Saving Expert founder added: "Be very, very careful. But it's firm-by-firm, and they're paying, I think, pretty quickly because they've had time to get this together."
Households, according to Bristol Live, will see a discount of £66 applied to their energy bills in October and November, rising to £67 from December through to March 2023. The non-repayable discount will be sent out on a monthly basis, regardless of whether consumers pay monthly, quarterly, or have an associated payment card.
