Martin Lewis fan claims £12,500 and says 'it could happen to you'

A Martin Lewis fan has claimed a staggering £12,500 prize after entering a competition she saw on the Money Saving Expert website.

The woman, who uses the username Becks171 shared on the MSE forum that she had won the cash after entering a radio contest she had seen on the platform. She also thanked another user, named Comping_Rich for advertising the competition.

She said: "I received a call from Absolute Radio telling me I'd won the 'Summer Payday' £12,500. A huge thank you to MSE Forum user Comping_Rich for posting the daily amounts - and a note to anyone who is sick of entering: keep it up, it can totally happen for you too."

With millions of visitors each year, one of the most active message boards of the MSE Forum is Competitions Time, the Mirror reports. The forum sees regulars and newbies alike post free-to-enter competitions, chat about tactics and share their wins.

This includes a range of competitions from those that can be entered by post, phone and text or ones that occur on a regular basis. The board can be found under the "Hobbies and Leisure" section of the MSE Forum.

Not all competition are free to enter - so always read the terms and conditions carefully and try to stick to free ones when possible. And of course - there is never any guarantee that you'll win.

The victory was listed as the Money Saving Expert newsletter's "success of the week". In 2019, Martin Lewis explained to viewers of the Martin Lewis Money Show that "comping is doing competitions as a hobby to win cash”.

Free competitions are offered by brands to get their names out there and the idea it to get as many possible people to enter.
