Martin Lewis confirms when he'll return to GMB to help with cost of living crisis

Martin Lewis has confirmed when he will return to Good Morning Britain to help with the cost of living crisis.

The Money Saving Expert started a new segment on the ITV breakfast show this morning last week called Martin's Money Mondays, which was set to air every Monday in September alongside Susanna Reid to help support the public amid the cost of living crisis. With rising energy bills and general cost of living changes, Martin has been keen to help people save money.

Martin regularly fronts Good Morning Britain, and was expected to appear today, but he explained his absence in a message shared on Twitter today and confirmed he would be on another day rather than today as planned. Instead, Good Morning Britain aired coverage as people discussed their memories of the Queen as well as the latest news on King Charles III too.

Taking to Twitter, he gave fans an update on his next appearance on the show, as he wrote: "Just a very quick note.

"After a chat with @gmb last week, we both agreed it'd be both more appropriate to move "Martin's Money Mondays" later this week (& prob next) and give more time to cover the latest cost of living issues as part of the programme."

Ahead of the segment, Martin explained the importance of his role - as he warned "millions of families risk being forced into poverty."

"I’ve been the Money Saving Expert for over 20 years – and in that time I’ve never seen anything like the cost of living crisis hitting the nation today, focused around the sickening rises in energy bills," Martin said.

"Millions of families risk being forced into poverty by it. Sadly right now the best I can hope to offer many of those families is damage limitation, only the politicians have the power to provide actual solutions. So sitting alongside Susanna each Monday, I’m glad GMB is giving us a dual purpose of practical help and holding power to account."

Whilst Susanna Reid, who co-presents the segment alongside Martin, added: "I’m delighted to have Martin by my side on Mondays this September tackling such an important issue head on. People are being forced to make impossible decisions and may not know where to turn, so tune in for some advice, support and hope."

Martin is also unlikely to be presenting on the Monday the following week as that is the day of the Queen's funeral, but confirmed he will make an appearance likely to be later in the week to help Brits with the cost of living crisis.
